Following a presentation to students at the Sir John Colfox Academy by Isabel Glazbrook, our newest and youngest Friend of Rotary, students were invited to apply for places on the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) scheme which will be held in the summer this year.
Following interviews of a shortlist by a panel from our Club, two students will be selected to go on the course with their places fully funded by the Rotary Club of Bridport.
RYLA is one of the youth activities supported by Rotary Clubs. It offers young people the opportunity to take part in a challenging and adventurous week in the Brecon Beacons and meet lots of other young people.
The week-long residential course concentrates on a range of outdoor activities designed to help students develop their team-working skills, leadership and improve their self-confidence.
