The speaker at the meeting of Kendal Rotary on 19th January was Ryan Cannan who updated the club on his Umoja Tea Project. Umoja, meaning Unity in Swahili perfectly demonstrates who they are and what they stand for. Umoja Tea is an initiative founded in 2025 based on revolutionising the tea industry and disrupting an outdated market and getting a just reward for the tea pickers work. They work with partner organisations globally to produce the highest possible quality teas on the market, and get this.....unlike the large corporations they do it all ethically! Ethics are at the heart of who they are as a company, strive to not only support their partners but also the communities they represent. As a brand they focus on bringing unique teas to the market and making tea more accessible for all. They consider every customer, follower, partner and stockist a part of their growing family.
