The Winning Post

As is traditional, we held a further 100 Club draw at our 66th. Charter Lunch, managed by IPP Roger Kettle.

Roger started by reminding members of the origins and benefits of this club.  “The 100 club began in 2005, and this initiative continues to thrive and raise funds for both charity and for participants.  For as little as £5 per quarter, participants have the benefit of donating to charity with 50% of their subscription going to the Rotary Club of Billericay’s Benevolent Account for Charity, and 50% going in prizes chosen by a “draw” five times a year.

So, participants have the chance of donating to charity at no cost to themselves should they win a prize.”
Honorary member the Lord Petre drew the first prize and then other diners including President Stephen, his wife Mary and DGE Gloria drew the rest.

The five prizes were won by:

  • 1st  Lorraine Harris No 62 -      £100
  • 2nd Trevor Bond No 16    -         £80
  • 3rd  Kathryn Burton No 21-        £60
  • 4th  Michael Ginn No 51      -     £40
  • 5th  Mary King No 86          -      £20
