The Rotary Club of Rayleigh Mill Annual Golf Championship

Since the club was founded 30 years ago, golf has always been a part of the lifeblood of the club and every year the golfers amongst the members have battled it out to see who is the best golfer.

This year the Club Golf Championship was held at Top Meadow Golf Club in Upminster on 29th September....a glorious, sunny autumn day.

The day started with the participants enjoying a full English breakfast, just to set them up for the rigours of the competition.

After a keenly fought competition, it emerged that the Club Champion 2025 was John Fairweather with a score of 30 points. The Ladies Prize was won by Sandra Allen. Best Men’s score was our former member and now Friend of Rotary, Rob Kitchin who also took the prize for the Longest Drive.

No-one got the prize for Nearest the Pin but, as some consolation, John Fairweather was awarded the prize for the novel event of “Nearest the Green.”

Having had an enjoyable, good-natured competition, the day was rounded off with a well needed drink and the traditional golfers’ meal of ham egg and chips.

Another successful Club Championship organised by our, soon to be leaving us, Sports Secretary, Dave Jarvis.

We thank Dave for all his work over the years in organising the many club sports events and wish him well for his future in Hertfordshire.
