On RI Director Harriette Verwey's visit to S Wales on September 16th, lunch was taken at Llanelli House in the only conservation area of Llanelli. The Georgian building was lovingly restored and reopened in 2013.
This was a project set up by PDG JC Williams in his role as Town Clerk for Llanelli. Of the six Trustees of Llanelli House, three are Rotarians, one is married to a Rotarian, another is an Honorary member and PHF and the other is also a PHF.
RI Director Harriette was appraised of the voluntary work undertaken by Rotarians to keep this Charitable Trust running in such an area of deprivation. It gave her a great opportunity to talk to Rotarians and meet the multicultural team in Llanelli House.
