On Monday 15th September Harriette Verwey and DG Ian Hughes visted the Cardiff Foodbank. In October 2021 the Cardiff Foodbank had to move from it’s original location to a new warehouse which was double the size to accommodate the needs of the people of Cardiff. Rtn. Graeme, a member of Llanishen Rotary was a volunteer at the Foodbank so enlisted the support of the other clubs in Cardiff. Together the clubs raised in excess of £12,000.00. Cardiff Foodbank received a grant to purchase a vehicle to implement a Mobile Distribution Service so it was agreed that the monies raised would be used to support this project and the donation will be acknowledged by having Rotary branding on the vehicle. Rotary clubs in Cardiff continue to support the Foodbank with regular donations of food and volunteering.

The van has now arrived and everyone is delighted to see it travelling around Cardiff branded with the Rotary Clubs of Cardiff logo. The graphics on the rear door are permanent but there are also magnetic panels to go on the driver and passenger doors of the van.
Rachel Biggs, the CEO and Jodie Jay, Operations Manager have sent a huge thank you to all Rotarians in the Cardiff Clubs for their generosity.
