On Monday 1th September Harriette Verwey visit the the Tiny Forest near the Cardiff Bay Barrage. This project represents a 10 year partnership between Cardiff Harbour Authority, Earthwatch Europe and Cardiff Bay Rotary. Occupying a highly prominent location where over 1 million visitors walk past annually. It demonstrates our commitment to improving the environment and raising the profile of Rotary.
Based on the Japanese “Miyawaki” concept of growing a small forest in a confined space (typically the size of a tennis court) over 10 years. More than 600 saplings consisting of 25 different types of indigenous trees were planted in this former industrial dockland site in 2021.
