Buttsbury Primary School's Enterprise day challenges the children and raises over £1800

RotaKids Enterprise Day

Wednesday morning on June 25 was an opportunity for entrepreneurial spirit to be unleashed throughout Key Stage 2 at Buttsbury Primary School.

The children take part in an Enterprise Morning where they have a £5 initial budget which they can utilise to generate a profit. In each class, children then create their own games and activities that will raise money towards their class total.  Old favourites like cup pong and “What’s in the Box?” were back, but the influence of Luke Littler has taken hold—there were plenty of darts variations to try.

So Competitive

There was a whole range of other games and activities too throughout the school: penalty shoot outs, Nerf gun shooting alley, basketball, guess the name of the teddy, skittles, crazy golf, to name but a few.  The children were in competition with one another so a flurry of posters advertising their games and stalls flooded the corridor.

All children split their time during the allocated slot; half was spent hosting and running the activities in their classroom and in the other half, they were able to go out and enjoy the morning.

The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were pleased to be generating much needed money for St Luke’s Hospice.

Children’s Reactions

Mariah, Year 5 RotaKid, said that “she was proud to have raised so much important money for St. Luke’s.”

Hannah, Year 4 RotaKid, said “it was good fun and that some games had prizes, even if you didn’t win the main one!”.

Vincent, Year 3 RotaKid, said “it was good to visit other classes and he especially enjoyed playing the darts and basketball games”.

What a Result

The event only lasted 45 minutes but within this time, a massive £1,857 was raised for St. Luke’s Hospice with Form 6S making £283 profit - a remarkable amount of money.

Headteacher Ann Robinson thanked all the parents for their continued support.
