Club member Rev. Margaret Fowler recently returned from another visit to Embu, Kenya, the sixteenth year of her trips there.
She planned to visit some primary schools where we have built borewells and catch up on students who are sponsored at various senior schools there, but she started with a three day Safari at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy close to Mount Kenya!
Some of the borewells we had built in our project had not been working properly, so we wanted to know how effective repairs had been. Margaret visited schools at Magaca, Kathanguri, and Kathanjuri accompanied by Rtn Peter Mbogo of the Rotary Club of Embu.
They were very warmly welcomed wherever they went, always being offered refreshments, sometimes having to eat six times a day!
back 5,500 children at 10 schools in Kenya, are benefitting from reliable, fresh, clean water for drinking, washing, cleaning, and watering of crops. This will make a huge difference to their lives for less than ten pounds per child.
