The main beneficiary was Essex and Herts Air Ambulance, receiving 75% of the £4,500 net raised. 25% will be given to the Rotary Club’s Trust Fund to help local charities.  The venue was the prestigious Members Course at The Rayleigh Club in Hullbridge Road, Rayleigh.

18 teams of four, eagerly waited on all 18 tees for a giant Rocket to be launched, to signal the ‘Shotgun Start’. And, with a resounding bang echoing around the hills they were off!

Many seasoned professionals were playing that day – but it was ‘Peak Security’ who triumphed as the Winning Team with a score of 122 points.

They were led by Rotarian Martin Hodson, pictured second from right, seen together with team members: Mark Hidveghy, John Judge and Kevin Fernandes

One of Essex & Herts Air Ambulance longest serving volunteers, Roger Corrie, spoke at dinner about the critical care medics on board their helicopter are able to administer, enabling life-saving procedures at the earliest opportunity.  Funds raised at events such as the Rotary Club of Rayleigh Mill’s Golf Day, help to make such vital lifesaving work possible.

Rotary Club President, Martin Stibbards said ‘We are delighted that we will be able to present Essex and Herts Air Ambulance with a cheque for £3,375 following our charity event.  Their life saving work is second to none and we are proud to be able to support them’.
