Malton and Norton Rotary Receive Recognition for Their INVOLVE Project

INVOLVE is a one-day exhibition where clubs, societies, charities and service providers in and around Malton and Norton set up tabletop displays so that local people can find out about how they can use, join or volunteer for local organisations

Members of the Malton and Norton Rotary Club are always very grateful for the support that they receive from local grant funders. Over the last few years the Two Ridings Community Foundation supported us whenever we managed the ‘INVOLVE’ events in Malton. (INVOLVE is a one-day exhibition where clubs, societies, charities and service providers in and around Malton and Norton set up tabletop displays so that local people can find out about how they can use, join or volunteer for organisations that enrich and connect their community.)

So it was with especial pleasure this year that we received an invitation to a garden party organised by the Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, Johanna Ropner, on Saturday the 28th June at the Deanery in York. Nick Medcalf (who provides the link to the Two Ridings Foundation) and his wife Beryl represented our club. The weather was kind and a large turnout of guests from a wide range of community organisations enjoyed afternoon teas in the marquee accompanied by live music from two bands. The numerous ways in which people in our region help to build, connect and empower the community was recognised in addresses given by the Lord Lieutenant, the Archbishop of York and by the Dean, whose garden we were enjoying.
