Presentation of Dictionaries

Mon, Jun 23rd 2025 at 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Presentation of dictionaries to year 6 at Mickelhurst All Saints CE Primary School also year 6 at Milton St James CE Primary School Mossley

On Monday 23rd June our President Manhar Taylor and two Tameside Rotary Members, Joyce Howarth and Brian Travis attended     Mickelhurst All Saints CE Primary School and presented their year six pupils with Rotary's 'Dictionary for Life'.  There were 28 pupils who received a Dictionary.

This is the twentieth school receiving Dictionaries from Rotary over the past 11 years.

One might think a printed book has been superseded by electronics, however it is a delight to see how much the pupils enjoy the hard backed book which bears their own name and that of Tameside Rotary Club.

On Monday 14th July Tameside Rotary's President,  Manhar Taylor, along with Rotarians Brian Travis and Joyce Howarth, presented 30 year six pupils at Milton St. Johns CE Primary School, Mossley, with The Dictionary 4 Life. They were very well received by the pupils and staff.  The young people were told Rotary is a world wide organisation who want to make a better world, and who are dedicated to providing help to local and international communities.  The Dictionary 4 Life is part of a literacy programme reflecting Rotary International priorities which are supported by local Rotary clubs.
We enjoyed the Assembly and the lovely signing by the school's pupils, especially "thank you for making me me"

Milton St. Johns is the twenty first school in Tameside to receive dictionaries.
