The school children had all filed quietly and sedately into the hall, and sat down on all sides with a space in the centre – very impressive!
Headteacher Ann Robinson moved into the centre and introduced us all by name and gave a brief introduction to the work of the Rotary Club and her hopes that the children’s experience as RotaKids, and the example set by the Rotary Club, would encourage them to become Rotarians in the future and serve their community.
Patrick addressed the assembly, congratulating the RotaKids on their election and the expectation that they would enjoy their time very much. “I look forward to working with you over the coming year.

All the remaining RotaKids stood up and were applauded by the whole school.
Patrick then led them all in reciting the RotaKids pledge, “As a RotaKid, I endeavour to be fair to all, to serve my community and to show respect for others”. RotaKids badges and pledge cards for all the other RotaKids were passed to Deputy Head Mr Graves for later distribution.
Mrs Robinson thanked us Rotarians for coming and we went outside the school entrance with the RotaKids Officers for photos. We look forward to working with them again this year
