The speaker at the meeting of Kendal Rotary on 2nd December was Phil Lambert, Chief Pilot from The Great North Air Ambulance. Kendal-born Phil Lambert flew into Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) after an impressive 22 years in the army. He talked about his career, his love of flying, and his role as chief pilot with the charity. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) brings pioneering pre-hospital care to the scene, rescuing hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year. They are not NHS-funded. There were 2148 call-outs in 2023 with a daily operating cost of £25,200 and an annual cost of the service of £9.3 million.
