Young Artist

Budding young painters, illustrators and artists can showcase their creative flair


Budding young painters, illustrators and artists can showcase their creative flair with a wide audience by taking part in the Rotary Young Artist competition. 

Participants have the opportunity to interpret the competition's annual theme and set their creativity free.

Turn ideas from a blank canvas into a work of art!

The Rotary Young Artist competition is run over three stages; club level, district and culminating in the national final.

Rotary Young Artist is proudly supported by both the Fine Art Trade Guild, and artist Lucy Pittaway. The Fine Art Trade Guild is the art and framing industry’s trade association, responsible for encouraging and promoting the best in art and framing.

Lucy Pittaway is an award winning artist, based in Yorkshire and is a member of the Guild and its Fine Art Group.

The Guild is member-owned and member run, and it develops and maintains internationally recognised standards in picture framing to ensure the work of artists, photographers and designers are correctly displayed, protected and enjoyed.

Age categories

The competition is open to young people in three age groups:

  • Junior                Up to 10 years
  • Intermediate        11 – 13 years
  • Senior                   14 – 17 years
