This year's Bexhill Christmas Lights On event was a very successful evening. The weather was warm and dry with little wind so the turn out was really great.
Bexhill Rotary Club was invited to bring along the Santa's Sleigh to add a focal point for the show in the Market Square. Rotarian Robin Taylor was in the Santa's suit and was the hero of the evening, managing to stay on the Sleigh for nearly three hours without a break.
The event brought children of all ages, 0 - 99 years, to witness the turning on of the Christmas Tree Lights and enjoy the wide variety entertainment takimg place. There was the Mayor, Town Crier and Town Clerk all dressed up in their regalia plus the Ukranian Refugee ladies choir all in costume.
Bexhill Lions Club who helped organise the event were selling mulled wine and gingerbread men at their stall, this all added to the seasonal atmosphere.
We were there to promote our upcoming Santa's Sleigh fundraising event which this year will be out and about town on nine occasions from 5th to 16th December. Dates & Places here.
Thanks to everyone who made this event possible, ensuring the sleigh was up and ready for this year and getting it to the Market square and making sure we had a friendly team to meet people and give out sweets. We did ourselves proud and Santa certianly brightened up the whole evening.
