Helping the Railway Goods Shed to achieve their biodiversity ambitions

The land around the goods shed
The land around the goods shed

The Llanelli Railway Goods Shed Trust has had immense success in securing capital budget for the restoration of the shed - a tremendous amount has been achieved. However, the Trust has little funds to enable them to complete biodiversity improvements and some general site maintenance - this is where Rotary has an opportunity to help bring to fruition the full potential of the site.

The site is in Tyisha, next to the ... railway! Just east along from the railway station. Marsh St, Llanelli SA15 1BG.

Our first site working day will be Friday November 29th, 1000-1200. Do come along to help make a real local difference. Our first tasks are a general site tidy up, cellar entrance railing refurbishment, site organisation, weeding of planting beds. A skip will be on site.

Then over the following months, we move onto tree planting, tree management and careful enhancement of the many biodiversity features on site.

Shed Trust will be purchasing a basic set of tools for our use but if you can bring garden tools, spades, pruning saws and gloves that would help. Non-Rotarians are welcome to join us! Contact Mike Goodfellow-Smith to confirm attendance: mike@questforfuturesolutions.co.uk & 07966 283280
