On a lovely sunny morning. our group of eight Rotarians and WRINGS made our way to Southend-on-Sea Pier to alight the Paddle Steamer Waverley for a trip up the Thames to the Pool of London.
After the ship breaking down two years ago, we were slighly nervous as she had been subject to minor tweeks in the two days prior to our voyage. However, all went to schedule. The ship was very full of passengers after we took on a few hundred more at Gravesend. All in all, a most enjoyable day out - for those Rotarians present |
