The speakers at the meeting of Kendal Rotary on 23rd September were Sara Cook and Tim Ward from Sight Advice South Lakes who gave an update on the works of the charity. Sight Advice South Lakes was formed in 1956 and provides a variety of services to support visually impaired people in the South Lakes area of Cumbria. Sight Advice is an independent local charity and relies on donations, grants and legacies to maintain its services. Their mission statement: “Sight Advice South Lakes aims to support people with visual impairment to improve the quality of their lives, together with promoting a greater awareness of sight issues.”
