We’ve reported before how we have assumed responsibility for the three Billericay signs, located on Stock Road (North Billericay), at the junction of Noak Hill Road and Laindon Common Road (South Billericay), and on London Road (West Billericay). In fact, we have just completed arrangements for the usual maintenance to renovate the signs this year.
Imagine our surprise and delight then when we passed the sign at North Billericay early in the month to find it had been decorated with red, white and blue balloons, Union flag balloons, and finally five rings of balloons in the colours of the five Olympic Rings. This was the same sign where we planted 4,000 crocus corms late last year which bloomed into a great floral show this Spring.
Who did this? Nobody seems to know. It was widely reported on Facebook in the “Billericay Discussion Page”, but nobody has yet owned up to take our thanks for such a public spirited action.
