Hansel

Alyson Reid gave us an excellent talk on Hansel where she worked for the last 12 years and is currently the Employment, Education and Catering lead. Hansel is a social care charity which was started in 1963 by Isobel and Tom Murdoch and gives people with additional support needs the freedom to live the life they choose.

She talked enthusially about their residential accomodation, home support and respite short breaks for people with additional support needs. They also have a tearoom called Lindy's, a laundry and an agricultural area to grow and sell plants.

Hansel has been successful for over 60 years meeting the ever changing needs of people needing support and give people the freedom to live in a home of their own, or to share living accommodation with others. They also  provide a range of opportunities for people with additional support needs to prepare for and be supported in employment.

Adnan Soojeri gave a well deserve vote of thanks to Alyson.
