Lost History of Kendal

The speaker at the meeting of Kendal Rotary on 5^th August was one of their own members, Past President Trevor Hughes, who gave a presentation entitled ‘The Lost History of Kendal’ in which he highlighted many of the buildings and parts of the town which have long since disappeared. There is so much of he town’s history which has been forgotten about and we are still today losing much of the town’s heritage. A trip down the main street now looks nothing like it did in the 1800s and it is hard to find anything left from that time. The shops have changed considerably and continue to do so and we have lost so much of he character that made Kendal what it was.
