65 Years of Service

As mentioned above, Rotarian Ben Clarke is an active member of the club despite his age of 95 years.  As President Roger remarked, he could not let the day of the Presidential Handover pass without paying tribute to the fcat that this day was also exactly the sixty-fifth anniversary of Ben joining our Rotary Club, and becoming a Rotarian.

Ben thanked Roger for his kind words, and responded by saying that he was as proud to be a Rotarian today as he was 65 years ago.  He was delighted that Patrick was taking on the role of President, and he recalled Patrick’s father as founding President - a “bit of a rascal” said Ben.  “The club is as active and successful now as it has ever been”.

After his investiture, President Patrick made a point of personally congratulating Ben on his service to our club, and his continuing contribution to club success.
