New Electricity Supply for Tree of Joy (July 2024)

The installation of a new power supply to the roundabout has been completed this week, by Trant, Guernsey Electric and our Partners Island Electrics.

This upgrade of the supply was an essential step forward in ensuring that the Tree of Joy light strings stay alight. 

Over the years we have had many failures, where the odd light string has failed and in the process blown the trip for 15 other light strings. This was all due to the inadequate supply and only two trip switches being available.

To add to the problem the supply was direct from the Street Lights, so we only had power during hours of darkness, not ideal when searching for a failed light!
