District members please log in for more information.

The first National Rotary KidsOut Day took place in 1990 and since then it has turned into the biggest single outing for disadvantaged children in the UK. With more than 28,000 children participating in 2019, the National Day Out is run nationally in conjunction with Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland (RIBI) and is always on the second Wednesday in June.

To make the National Rotary KidsOut Day the success that it is, more than 10,000 Rotarians volunteer on the day at over 100 venues. Whether they live with critical health issues, in refuge or with a disability, children across the country are taken on a fun day out to the zoo, a theme park or even the seaside, often for the first time in their lives

The Rotary Club took over 40 kids with teachers/assistants/adults to Longleat Safari Park.  The kids came from Westbury Junior and Infnat schools.

We had a lovely day out, the kids had an excellent ride on the lake boat to see the sealions, gorillas and monkeys.  We then went on the train for a ride around the grounds.  Once we’d got the kids over excited, we took them off to the animal enclosure to see the myriad of small animals kept there, notably the Meer Cats who were a great attraction!

Once we all had lunch and a drink in the Long House we trooped off to the coach for a tour around the Safari Park.  Al the animals were there for us to see including, Lions, Giraffes, many types of large deer, Camels, Cheetah and the Painted Dogs to name but a few.

We then drove back to the schools, fortunately with the same number of kids that we set out with.

The coach was supplied by Beeline Coaches of Warminster, very friendly and professional at all times!
