a portrait drawing class with Andy
Prestwick Rotarian Debby Broughton-Hay treated us to a portrait drawing class, using Andy Mathieson as a willing model. Creative arts, such as drawing, are good for mental health, as they enable the artist to fully immerse themselves in the task before them.
After explaining some of the common feature links when drawing a face, Debby got down to the task in hand. Andy proved to be an excellent model, and a drawing with a highly recognisable likeness emerged, albeit a younger version [ which delighted Andy ].
Great entertainment all round with lots of questions. Richie Cameron gave Debby a well-earned, generous, vote of thanks for setting up, and delivering a super demonstration, of a difficult skill. Maybe the younger-looking portrait of Andy will lodge in his attic, in true Dorian Gray fashion.
