March Veterans Hub
The Drill Hall at The Army Reserve was set up for us and we welcomed our usual veterans at this month's Veterans Hub who were as always given a warm welcome, and place to meet and greet enjoy coffee, tea and drinks all in the company of the now familiar faces, but always welcoming new members.
The Veterans were visited by Leatherhead Lions Club who introduced their Message in a Bottle scheme who they support with funding from Surrey County Councill and were able to explain the reasons why the scheme would be advantageous and handed out bottles to those who attended to include friends, family and neighbours. They also added that they collect used spectacles for the poorer countries.
The Message n a Bottle Scheme helps emergency services personnel to save valuable time in identifying an individual very quickly and knowing f they have any allergies or take special medication. The Message n a Bottle kid includes a standard form to be completed and is always kept in the fridge,
Our picture this month shows Maggie from Epsom Rotary and Barb from RBL who are always busy behind the scenes and also very much in the forecourt, also busy today arranging the transport set up for the up and coming Veterans trip to the D-Day Museum Portsmouth.
