Domestic Abuse Support
The speaker at the meeting of Kendal Rotary Club on 5th February was Clare (Community Support Manager) from ‘Springfield House’, who gave a talk on the work of the Charity. Springfield supports anyone living in the South Lakeland area to live free from domestic abuse. They are there to give advice, information and support and are the only dedicated refuge in Cumbria offering safe emergency accommodation to women and children fleeing domestic abuse. Their Refuge provides emergency safe accommodation for women who are in insecure or unsafe housing or who are homeless and are ready to make some changes in their lives. They also have a Community Hub where anyone can access 1 to 1 support, advice and information, specialist group work, peer support and information for friends and family.
