The Cooden Beach Golf Club was a flurry of activity on Saturday 27th April when Bexhill Rotarians and friends got their brains in gear for the Annual Quiz Night.
One contestant reported that there was ‘an excited atmosphere of anticipation permeating the quiz room’ with everybody wondering how difficult the questions were going to be. But the competing teams needn’t have worried because Quizmaster Bexhill Rotarian Patrick Donaldson and his wife Amanda had purposely posed all sorts of questions varied in difficulty to make sure that everybody scored points, ranging from celebrity to history, not to mention geography and history as well.
At half time, to give weary brains some well-earned respite, hearty and welcome fish and chips were devoured, the meal was followed by a grand raffle with a whole host of prizes all freely donated for the occasion.
The whole event was a huge success with the winning team of brainboxes, including Bexhill’s President James Slinn (pictured second left) being presented at the end of the evening with their trophy. The event, which raised around £500 for Rotary charities, is part of a lively programme of social events which combine with a variety of different projects aimed at helping others less fortunate.
