Primary Schools Football Tournament

10 primary schools from N.E. Fife competed at St Leonards School playing fields in this annual St Andrews Rotary challenge.

The annual primary schools football tournament supported by the St.Andrews Rotary Club was played at St.Leonards playing fields.
An excellent turnout of 10 teams contested for the trophy on a fine summers evening , with about 200 spectators in attendance.
The quality of the football was excellent .
After
a round robin contest of 2 groups of 5 teams, 4 teams qualified for the
knock out semi final stages.(the top 2 in each group).
Lawhead
beat Greyfriars 4-1 and Canongate beat St.Leonards after a thrilling
penalty shoot out, the score being level 1-1 after full time.
The final was won by Lawhead 3-1 in a keenly contested match.
Our thanks to every one who supported a most enjoyable occasion.
