75th Anniversary Dinner

Rotary District Governor Narek Bido presented President Gregor with a fine Certificate acknowledging the great contribution the Club has made to the town over 75 years.

The Rotary Club of Prestwick held their Annual Dinner recently where they celebrated their 75th birthday. The club was chartered in 1948, with the mother club being The Rotary Club of Ayr and the daughter club The Rotary Club of Troon.

Rotary District Governor Narek Bido proposed the Toast to the Rotary Club of Prestwick and presented President Gregor with a fine Certificate acknowledging the great contribution the Club has made to the town over 75 years. He also exchanged banners with Prestwick President Gregor Purdie.

The club was supported by eleven Past Presidents and representatives from six other Rotary Clubs. A very entertaining speech was given by the principal Speaker John McKelvie, a retired Police Supt.

Prestwick Rotarians Andy Mathieson and John Brebner were then presented with certificates for 40 years of service in Rotary by Assistant Governor Hazel McCully. Well done to both Andy and John.

Club Vice President Lorraine McEvoy completed the evening by offering a sincere and at times amusing vote of thanks to the Staff of St Nicholas Golf Club for an excellent dinner and Service. A great night was had by everyone.

Prestwick Rotarians are proud of what they have achieved over many years for the local community, and strive to continue their good work for many years to come. Congratulation to the Club.
