END POLIO NOW CAMPAIGN - Stand at Epsom Market Place - 28 Oct 2023 10-16hr
Behind the scenes and leading up to the event, Epsom Rotary arranged for a stand to be held at Epsom Market Place on Saturday, 28 October 2023, arranging the purchasing and bagging up of purple crocus bulbs and some planting of bulbs in pots. The stand was set up with a display board showing details of the Rotary worldwide campaign and more information can be found on Rotary International Website as well as at Epsom Rotary Website.
Epsom Rotary's stand at the Epsom Market Place highlighted the worldwide End Polio Now Campaign selling purple crocus bulbs at the Marketplace throughout the day and to advertise how Rotary has been a lead in the fight to eradicate Polio.

Why Purple. The purple crocus is a symbol of Rotary's worldwide campaign to eradicate polio, with its colour representing the dye used to mark the finger of a child who has been immunised. The success of the fight against Polio is an incredible success story and although many people now believe it was due to Bill Gates but thanks to the Bill Gates Foundation monies raised throughout Rotary are still tripled. Rotary was there at the beginning and is still delivering.
The event was somewhat timely as the same morning Our President received a Certificate of Appreciation from last year's fundraiser for End Polio Now
We raised around £250 on the day so very worthwhile, and still have some crocus corms to sell so this figure will increase. Well done Epsom Rotary for the great support by everyone.
