Penrith Rotary Trail Run 2024
Sunday 13th October saw the third edition Penrith Rotary Trail Run at our new venue, Dalemain Mansion near Penrith.
Once again, the weather was very kind with even the odd sunny period.
Our members and friends rallied round as usual, and Penrith Lions once again organised the car parking for us on the day.
BEEP Doctors Cumbria provided top notch medical support for the event and we give our thanks, once again, to Dr Theo Weston for his time. This time there was no need for his medical expertise, but we kept him busy anyway erecting gazebos and the like.
As always, it’s great to have people that you can rely on helping.
On the day there were 40 entrants in the Trail Run, and 14 on the Fun Run.
Andrew Gibson, of Dumfries Running Club, was this year’s winner of the Trail Run and was followed by Colin Holden, also from Dumfries Running Club, who was also the first male Veteran. Third was Alex O’Doherty [unattached]. Full results are available here.
Dumfries Running Club and Eden Runners between them provided us with about 20 starters, so our thanks go to them for their continued support.
All in all, we had a great day with tremendous support from Dalemain Estates. We also raised a fair amount of money which we will use to fund the various local and international projects that Penrith Rotary supports. Raising money while having fun is part of what Rotary is about. You can check us out here for more information.
We intend to be back again next year so keep an eye on our website and social media.
