We meet up with Leominster Rotarians at the Grove

President Angela, Brian, Paul, David and Heather met informally with President Penny Weir and her husband, President Elect Paul Weir, from Leominster Rotary Club at the Grove golf club in late September. President Penny is also a fundraising officer for Echo Herefordshire, an independent charity, the leading provider of day services for people with a disability in the county.

Our meeting was to discuss how Knighton and Leominster might cooperate on mental health projects, in particular using the art materials donated to our club. Penny was able to advise on a number of groups who would be interested.

We also discussed the Classrooms in the Clouds charity supported by Knighton for over 10 years and the possibility of applying for a district or foundation grant towards a project focussing on feminine hygiene and "period poverty" in Nepalese schools. A grant application requires the collaboration of multiple Rotary clubs and Leominster, although outside District 1150, is just one of a number we will be approaching.
