MEDICAL EQUIPMENT TO UKRAINE

Diss Rotary have paid £1000 towards the fuel to get an artic load of medical equipment to Ukraine. Photo shows Rotarians ,Brian Earley and Chris Standley of Norfolk Service who has previously taken loads out for us.

Our friend and fellow Rotarian Brian Earley has been able to acquire a considerable amount of medical equipment that was either surplus to requirement or about to be replaced from various health authorities across the UK. This comprises wheelchairs, operating tables, power units and dozens of adjustable beds. Normally this would have been transported to the Ukraine on the fire tender by Chris Stanley however on this occasion we were able to get a back load on a Ukrainian articulated lorry which meant we were able to send double the amount of equipment for more or less the same fuel cost. Rotarians met Brian and Chris on Friday the 29th of September whilst the lorry was being loaded and it will be leaving for Ukraine later the same day.  Brian will then be flying out in a few days’ time, to supervise where all the kit eventually ends up. Diss and District Rotary Club supplied £1000 towards the cost of fuel.
