The speaker on 10th July was Meike Tennant from the Great North Air Ambulance Service which has Headquarters in Durham. The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) brings pioneering pre-hospital care to the scene, rescuing hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year. They provide air ambulance services across the North-East, Cumbria and North Yorkshire and are entirely funded by charity. Working with the NHS and fellow emergency services, GNAAS has become an important part of the region’s major incident response. They have also started to play a role in the national picture as well. Should the worst happen, their teams and other resources are ready to respond.
