Every year Chelwood Bridge Rotary contacts Parish Councils, in the area, asking for nominations of individuals who have demonstrated a significant voluntary contribution to their local community. What the Club is looking for is someone who has made a real tangible difference to their community, ideally over a period of time. Over the years the contribution that the winner makes to their community is very different, one year to the next. This year Arwen Ross was nominated by Camerton Parish Council. Arwen won the award for the work she does as the editor of the Camerton Parish Community Newsletter. Arwen is pictured receiving an engraved rose bowl, and certificate, from Martin Palmer, President 2022 - 2023. Further details at www.chelwoodbridgerotary.com
Camerton parish council would like to again nominate Arwen Ross for the Chelwood Bridge Rotary Club Community Award. Arwen is the editor of the Camerton Parish Community Newsletter which is a much-appreciated community resource letting all our parishioners know what is going on in the community. Without her tireless volunteer help the production of this valued community resource would not be possible. Several years ago the parish council had to stop production of the newsletter due to the previous editor's resignation. Arwen gladly picked up the reins which has allowed us to successfully continue with the production of the community newsletter over the last seven years. In addition, this year she has worked tirelessly to update the valuable Welcome to Cameron booklet. This essential source of information is given to al new residents of Camerton to ensure that they very quickly have all the useful contact points and information on the local community organisations that they can join. This greatly helps with fostering a strong sense of community spirit in Camerton
