MARSHALLING - CANCER RESEARCH - RACE FOR LIFE
Cancer Research Race for Life this year at Epsom Downs brought many participants either running or walking 3k, 5k and 10k around the Downs. Each participant had a number and on the back a poster to display for whom they were taking part, some messages werevery touching as they related to family and friends they knew.
Those taking part were entertained initially by music from the stage with a warm up, flags were carried to gather and lead to the starting point and then they were off.
There were also marshals around the circuit but a team from Epsom Rotary also manned the water station and handed out medals to each and every one of those that took part which were well deserved. There was a great sense of achievement, some wearing some bespoke outfits to entertain and stand out, pink wigs, a pink flamingo, tutus were part of the attire worn. All in aid of a good cause.
