Debbies Talk

on her early career

Debbies talk

Prestwick Rotarian Debby Broughton-Hay gave us an entertaining, informative talk on her early career, working in the textile industry, ranging from knitting pattern design, to large scale fabric printing.

Debby passed round examples of her work, including a Scottish apron, a tiger oven glove, snoopy, and sari fabrics. The combination of artistic design, backed up by precise roller printing technology, is very interesting.
Adnan Soojeri gave an enthusiastic vote of thanks. He is shown modelling the Scottish apron, with Debby, and John Brebner. Adnan learned to crochet from a very young age. It is always good to get a talk from one of our own Rotarians, a very pleasant way of getting to know our Rotary friends better. Well done Debby.
