Our Rotary North East 'One Life Initiative' team works with the local community to see a defibrillator located in the village

After speaking with other local residents, Jim Garfitt became aware of the keen support for having a community public access defibrillator sited in the village of Sunderland Bridge, Croxdale.

Members of our Rotary North East 'One Life Initiative' team were able to discuss the process with Jim and were delighted that the Spennymoor Area Action Partnership and Croxdale and Hett Parish Council generously stepped forward to help fund this potentially life-saving equipment which was kindly installed by Damon Clark and his team from 'Renewable Energy Management'.

Today saw the 'official unveiling' of the community defibrillator which is located outside St Bartholomews Church Hall.

Pictured are - l to r: Jim Garfitt, Durham County Cllr Jan Blakey, Cllr Pam Adams of Croxdale & Hett Parish Council, Durham County Cllr Gary Hutchinson, and Tom Sharples from our 'One Life Initiative' Team.

The second photo shows Damon Clark with Sam & Riley who installed the cabinet on a less sunny day! Our thanks also go to Louise Porter of the Spennymoor AAP.
