The first donation is to Glyne Gap School where the club had already committed to provide four apple trees to help out with their garden but a further request from the school asked for help to fund a sensory room, so combining both projects Bexhill Rotary has donated a total of £500.
£410 has been donated to Bexhill Men’s Shed to help with a router, bench and tools. The Men’s Shed is a project open to all men who wish to develop their home improvement skills, and offers a place where men can go and produce items for the home and practice their skills with support from other men who are able to teach and help.
Ninfield Scouts are also benefitting from a donation of £250 to cover a group of 11 Venture Scouts’ trip to Kandersteg International Scout Centre in Switzerland for a mini Scout Jamboree.
Strive Café in Bexhill is a not-for-profit café which offers a quality customer café experience alongside providing paid employment and work experience to individuals with learning disability and neurodiversity. Bexhill Rotary Club is donating £350 to help with improvements to the toilets, and also a set of doors that open into a courtyard at the back of the café which they wish to use in the summer.
The final donation of £338 goes to The Pelham, a Christian charity in Bexhill which enriches lives in practical and diverse ways through their Community Hub, Coffee Lounge and community projects. This donation will go towards two sets of speakers which will enable the charity’s centre to play music for the holiday clubs they are planning to hold this year.
