St Leonards Activities

A cheque was presented to St. Michael’s Hospice
for £2.500 by our President Kim Hollis QC

On the 25th January we visited the Black Lion Public House at Telham where we had a buffet and a game of bowls. Our President took the first shot down the bowling alley.

On the 1st February there was a raid from Hastings Rotary and there was also a talk from Mr Paul Fostick DG, also his Deputy Graham Foster ASG also attended.

On the 4th February Bexhill and St Leonards Rotary Clubs worked as Marshalls at a Cross Country and Obstacle Course which was a fund-raising event for St Michaels Hospice. There were 300-400 people and it turned into more of a mud race than anything else.

On the Thursdays during this month Kim Hollis and a few other members helped out at the Salvation Army building in Hastings when they were running a warm up [project for those that needed it. Our President also spent a lot of time baking cakes for the event which went down very well.

On Wednesday 8th February, we had an interesting talk from David Hatherell about the Commonwealth War Graves. The talk was well attended and a cheque was presented to David towards this organisation.
