VETERANS TRIP TO LONDON - 29 March 2029

Arranged by Barb Warwick of Epsom RBL and Maggie Rowell of Epsom Rotary a trip was organised for a group of veterans with guests and assistants from Epsom Rotary on 29 March 2023 for a Blue Badge Tour around |London culminating in a visit to the National Army Museum, Chelsea London SW3.  

With assistance from our faithful Ian from Goodwin Veteran Charity two pickups were arranged, one from the Town Hall Epsom and the other at the Army Reserve Centre, Ewell and trip by Edward Thomas Coaches from the two locations to make it easier for those attending and at around 11.30 the coach left The Army Reserve Centre Ewell to their adventurous trip to and around London.. Courtesy of The Co-Op snacks and refreshments were provided for all on the coach on the way up to accommodate a light lunch and everyone seemed to enjoy the company and grandeur of the exciting trip. 

The guide was Kim from Blue Badge Guide who gave very interesting and detailed accounts of the scenes and stories from all around London and was extremely good at entertaining and engaging everyone. The coach arrived at The National Army Museum which was part of the planned trip so that the veterans and guests could enjoy tea and treats at the Cookhouse Cafe and those that were wishing to had a chance to wonder around the Museum too before heading back, arriving back at the coach drop off points at around 6pm and the feedback from the veterans was that they had a wonderful time.
