MALAWI - CYCLONE FREDDY

Although it has not been on the UK news much a huge static cyclone has wreaked devastation in Blantyre where Rotarian Ruthie Markus has her clinic.  The main bridge has been torn apart, thousands have lost their homes and in some cases their loved ones although fortunately Ruthie's Clinic however survives.

Epsom Rotary have already had some money donated by worried Rotarians and this has ben collected into a batch of £1000 which is being sent to Ruthie Markus to urgently purchase emergency goods and the most effective identified method and quickest way to get the money to urgently buy much needed items such as blankets, cups, cooking equipment, plates etc is via AMECA, where Ruthie is CEO, to ensure the money gets to where it is needed.

Ruthie has already visited the emergency camps and can see first hand what is wanted and has helped where she can.
