Lorna Mitchell from The South Ayrshire Befriending Project gave us an upbeat talk on progress of this 26 year old charity, based in Ayrshire. The Project provides young people with opportunities to come together, make friends, and be treated with respect.
Volunteers are required to contribute 2 hours a week , and this could change a youngsters life. Lorna is the project co-ordinator in a hard-working team, with over 50 young people being supported, and over 20 on the waiting list. Lorna can be found on 01292 264000, or www.bfriend.org.uk.
Richie Cameron offered a generous vote of thanks for a well-delivered, informative presentation. Pictured left to right are Lorna Mitchell, Andy Mathieson, Kate Sweeney and guest Mike Schirwing, President of Troon Rotary Club.
