The speaker at the meeting of Kendal Rotary on 20^th February was Alison England, Legacy Relationship Manager for Cancer Research UK North West. She detailed the work of the charity and talked specifically about the importance of legacies and how the money is used. Cutting-edge research has helped overall cancer survival in the UK double since the 1970s, and today 2 in 4 people survive the disease for 10 years ore more.
