The speakers at the meeting of Kendal Rotary Clun on 5th December were Irene McKay and Emma Banks from ‘The Key Project’ who gave the club a breakdown of the aims and ethos of the charity. ‘KEY’ is an independent youth work charity, established by the Christian churches in the Kent Estuary and is supported by the churches and by grant-giving trusts. They aim to enable young people to ‘Unlock Their Potential’. Their programme of work is designed to provide creative learning opportunities that appeal and engage with a wide range of young people within the community, and actively encourage and value the contribution of their local volunteers.
