Chelwood Bridge Rotary Club organised a Race Night on Saturday 7th January in support of the Rotary Ukrainian Appeal which has been set up to raise funds for much needed generators and warm clothing for the people of Ukraine who are experiencing severe difficulties with loss of power due to the conflict. The evening was a great success attended by a very enthusiastic audience which included a lady from the Ukraine who is now living with a local family having escaped the war. Eight races were run on the big screen and the evening produced a net profit of just over £2,000. Rob Taylor from the Rotary Club said, ‘We would like to thank the sponsors of the races which included, The Druids Arms, NE Appliancesm, Kelston Sparkes Group, Ragdoll Commercial Intelligence, Lye Cross Farm and Pensford Post Office and all those that helped to make this a very successful occasion.’
