“VERNON RECEIVES A VERY SPECIAL AWARD”

Rotary Service at it's best.

At our meeting on the 15th November, Vernon Findlay was presented by District Governor Paul Frostick with a well deserved an Avenues of Service Award for his commitment to community service.

Vernon who joined Bexhill Rotary Club ten years ago has over the years raised nearly £20,000 for a number of charities, including Dom’s Food Mission, Homecall, 1066 Pink Ladies, Warming Up The Homeless, and Bexhill Foodbank, all of whom have benefitted from Vernon’s activities.

In addition, Vernon has been making a whole range of items from discarded wood which have found their way to King Offa Primary Academy, St. Michael’s Hospice and Highwoods Preservation Society.

As well as being a very active Rotarian, Vernon is also involved with Bexhill Heritage helping to restore the bandstand on the seafront, he is also Membership Secretary for Highwoods Preservation Society.

On top of all that activity, Vernon has found time since 2015 to help no less than 32 pupils at King Offa Primary Academy in Bexhill assemble eleven kit cars!

Ø Bexhill Rotary Club welcomes prospective new members who are keen to take part in our activities serving communities and who are looking to join an enthusiastic, busy and fun-loving club.  To find out more just click on the contact tab at the top of the page.
