Here are 9 ways you can save money on your energy bill

recently gave a talk to Midhurst and Petworth Rotary Club which produced the checklist below on how to save on energy bills.
1.Switching off ‘standby mode’ can save up to £20 per year for each item! Start with tv, printers, desk tops pc.
2.Thermostats- you probably know that reducing by 1C will save 8% on heating as well as reducing emissions! Individual thermostats on every radiator -have you tailored their temperatures to meet your needs in each room?
3.Driving-slowing down smoothly and staying within speed limits can save as much as 15% on fuel which equates to over 25 pence per litre!
4.Low Energy bulbs -LEDs to you and me-consume up to 29% less energy than standard bulbs and last much, much longer.
5.New boiler? Consider domestic Air Source pump
6.Tumble dryers-use only when you can’t hang out on a line?
7.Boiling kettles-take off boil before they automatically switch off -still at 100C but over a year helps reduce electricity by X % compared to leaving to auto off switch
8.E car charging-public free facilities whenever possible or if home charging only overnight
9.Major savings for the future -you don’t need reminding about advantages of insulated windows,lofts and of course Solar panels for the roof?
